Alexis de Villenfagne

Born and raised in Brussels in a financial and entrepreneurial household, I earned a Double Master’s Degree in Finance from the Louvain School of Management and ICHEC Brussels Management School. Alongside my studies, I launched an entrepreneurial venture in the travel sector, had the opportunity to work on a trading desk in New York and also for a start-up studio developing innovative mobility solutions in Belgium.

Keen to gain exposure to leading companies across Europe, I decided to join Bain & Company as a strategy consultant. For over three years at Bain, I worked with large FMCG and Retail companies in all aspects of their business, ranging from post-M&A integration to corporate strategy development.

My deep interest in consumer-oriented companies and my willingness to get closer to founders and entrepreneurs naturally led me to join Verlinvest as an investor. At Verlinvest, I focus on consumer platform opportunities across Europe, including in healthcare.

Prior to starting my career, I went on a six-month adventure, cycling 11,000km+ from Bogota (Colombia) to Ushuaïa (Argentina), a trip that left me amazed by the beauty of nature and cultural diversity. Today I still love travelling and discovering new countries as well as doing all my favorite outdoor activities such as kitesurfing, ski touring or paragliding.
