Altogether, FRL welcome over 330 million Indian customers each year in its stores, which cover 240 cities and combine over 11 million square feet of retail space.
Future Retail Limited acquired in 2015 Bharti Retail, adding Easyday (leading supermarket chain in Northern India) to its store portfolio. As part of this transaction, FRL is going through a large business restructuring, with a demerger of its back-end operations (together with non-core investments) into a new company named Future Enterprises Limited, which got listed in June 2016. Verlinvest has been a shareholder in FRL since September 2015.
